I’ve come to realize that our personal happiness and success in life is only limited by our own thoughts and actions

They may make ease your journey,  too.

1)      Dare to Dream

Daydreaming and envisioning life’s possibilities are valuable activities indeed.  Our daydreams are what guide our thoughts which in turn create our reality!  Much like a compass, our dreams point us in the right direction toward our destination.

2)       Deal with Doubt

Doubt kills dreams!  Doubt may arise because of the voices of others around us, but more often it is the voices we internalize that keeps us stuck.    Doubt gives us the pause that allows us to be discerning in our actions.  Unfortunately, too often doubt freezes people from growing, taking risks, or trying something new.  Doubt is a natural emotion that accompanies the new.

3)      Feel the Fear

Fear thoughts are those created from past memories or past events.  They are not thoughts that serve us, nor do they hold the truth for today.  However, we can give such incredible power to these thoughts that they hold us back from living our dreams.  The word “FEAR” as an acronym stands for False-Evidence-Appearing-Real.

4)      Slam the Door on your inner critic

The words we tell ourselves either hold us back or move us forward toward achieving our goals and dreams.  Our Inner Critic is the voice in our heads that keeps us in a holding pattern and says everything possible to stop us from achieving our heart’s desires.  Our Inner Critic knows all our past mistakes, all our fears, and all our worries; and he/she uses them mercilessly to keep us where we are.

5)       Stop Complaining

Some people decide to take a pessimistic view of life.  They are the glass half-empty type of people.  Complainers are drainers!  We create our own reality by the words we speak and the thoughts we think.  complaining is a choice.

6)       Love Yourself

There is more to loving oneself than just appreciating one’s physical appearance.  Loving our outer beauty and inner beauty are equally important.  Life is a journey and without you – just as you are, in this moment – the journey does not exist!

7)      Embrace Change

It is essential that we embrace the changes we have to face.  Change is part of our world.  It is a given.  Yet, so many times we resist the inevitable, causing ourselves undue anxiety and stress.  Emotions can be our guide in determining whether we are on or off track in living our life purpose.  It is crucial that we listen to our emotions and trust the messages thyey are sending us.

8)      It’s all About your Attitude

You are personally responsible for your own happiness.  You alone decide what brings you joy and you alone can choose to pursue the things that make you happy, or choose to do things that leave you feeling unhappy and unfulfilled.

We can choose to be happy at any given moment.  Start with smiling!  It is as simple as that!

9)      Accept Help

People are put on your path in life for a reason.  We are meant to help each other.  It is time to curb our own egos and accept help from those around us.  We need to be open to the support that is presented to us and create a healthy balance of giving and receiving.  This allows us to be free to live out our purpose, knowing we are supporting others to live out theirs.

10)   Have Faith

The one thread that runs through all of the steps is the need to have faith, whether it’s dealing with doubt, dealing to dream, asking for help or embracing change.  This means developing faith in yourself, in others, and ultimately in God.  When these are aligned, nothing can hold you back.
